It all started with Chuck Yeager’s Flight Simulator many years ago. Just ground (it was pink if I recall correctly), sky, and a few geometric obstacles to fly around. There was one tiny monitor, no autogen and no air traffic. I thought (and hoped) that someday the technology would be cheap and sophisticated enough to build a realistic sim.

Here we are. –Well, it’s not always cheap. :-)  Since then, I’ve flown real planes, but I’ve found that there’s nothing more satisfying to me than building something with my own hands. Being able to fly it is the icing on the cake. Not having to deal with fuel prices, check rides and crazy Minnesota weather is fabulous. Plus, having a pause button is always handy. :-)
