I haven’t been able to find a Learjet 45 with the prototype red tail and logo, so I’ve decided to try making one myself. It turns out it’s not too difficult as long as you have the right software and a little knowledge about image editing.

This version will be available here for free when it is complete.

I spend all this time and effort trying to get this simulator to look and feel like the real thing and look how I treat it. :-)

Here’s a pic of the sim lined-up on the active runway at KSEA (Seattle-Tacoma). I swapped the yellow LEDs in the attitude indicator (center of the instrument panel) for cool white ones. The sim looks much better in the dark. It helps me forget all the work I still have to do. :-) The two RMU units (center-bottom below the attitude indicator) aren’t on because of monitor issues.

I also got a buttkicker and have it mounted to the chair I sit in when I fly. It’s really nice to feel the ground, engine, gear and flap rumbles.

More soon. My shell is nearing completion and will be on its way to my house in the near future.
